Funding through grants and award are an important source of start-up or development finance for social entrepreneurs. Having received a grant, say from OSEP, social entrepreneurs can often use this to go to other funders to secure matched funding from other sources. Funding normally falls into one of three categories - Grants, Loans and Social Investment. Some are general and specifically designed for social enterprises; others are sector specific or regionally based. The attached table is in downloadable format and is regularly updated to give you an overview of what is available from a wide variety of sources. In addition to providing you with a brief description of the funding and any sector or specific target groups it provides you in most instances with a link to the relevant site.
