DESCRIPTION:Are you and existing cooperative or Mutual operating in Oxfordshire? How often do you network with other cooperatives? Do you sometimes feel isolated? Oxfordshire is home to many cooperatives from Community Owned shops and pubs to Cooperative housing\, food and care coops and much more. \n\nPeer networks create a safe space for people with similar goals to share experiences\, knowledge\, and challenges\, helping to generate collective learning\, problem-solving\, and mutual support to overcome isolation. This workshop is for groups who are:\nConsidering taking ownership of a rural asset. \nWorking to create new services or facilities in their town or village\, where there might\nbe a lack. \nInterested in taking on and converting an existing business that might be at risk\nthrough retirement or closure. \nThe workshop will introduce the coop business model\, with a particular focus on community\nownership.  You’ll gain a deeper understanding of coops as successful\, values based businesses as well\nas their purpose and benefits. We will also introduce community shares\, a unique way of\nraising investment for your community business. Find out if the co-op model suits your\nbusiness or community enterprise idea.\nWhy coops? \nAll kinds of businesses operate as coops – pubs\, energy suppliers\, taxi firms\, bookstores\,\ncommunity gardens\, wine sellers\, farms\, sports clubs and much more.\nThey are run by their members\, who can be customers\, employees\, residents or suppliers –\nand who have a say in how the co-op is run\, making it a fairer\, more collaborative and\ndemocratic way of doing business.\nCo-ops are also resilient as a business model. DESCRIPTION:This fully funded peer group is designed to bring early-stage businesses and entrepreneurs together with a focus on understanding the benefits\, opportunities and ways to bake in positive social impact and purpose to your business plans as you develop and grow. \nWhat is a peer-to-peer group? \nA peer-to-peer group is a facilitated group of individuals who are all at a similar stage in their business or organisation\, keen to come together to share with and learn from one another. \nWhat can I expect from the peer to peer group? \n\n\nA safe\, supportive and confidential environment to learn and share experiences\, challenges and knowledge with a group of like-minded peers. \n\n\nFacilitation by experienced business mentors\, who will guide the sessions\, challenge and encourage your thinking and be a safe critic. \n\n\nThe opportunity to make lasting\, meaningful connections and find collaborative opportunities. \n\n\nGain insight and knowledge surrounding key strategic topics. \n\n\nThe initial session will focus on the Social Business Model Canvas geared towards helping you consider the social impact of your business whilst forming your business plan. The themes and topics of future sessions will be shaped by commonalities and outliers that are identified from this initial session and will help you to delve deeper into your business and think strategically. \n\n\nWho is it for? \nAnyone who is at the early stages of starting or growing a social enterprise or purposeful business and is seeking to benefit from the support\, connections and knowledge-sharing that can be gained from a peer group setting. \n\nWhen \n18:00 – 20:00 Wednesday 17th April 2024 \n18:00 – 20:00 Wednesday 1st May 2024 \n18:00 – 20:00 Wednesday 15th May 2024 \n18:00 – 20:00 Wednesday 5th June 2024 \n4 x 2 hour sessions \nTerms & Conditions \nWe will ask you to complete a short questionnaire upon registration to assess compatibility and suitability.
