We recognise that many social entrepreneurs need help to get started, establish run and develop their projects. Some enterprises are small and just need some basic advice while others are more substantial and need specialist support to help them scale up. In a number of cases they are learning how to do new things for the first time. The purpose of our support programme is to provide learning opportunities to develop a range of relevant skills and to meet and share experience with other people operating as social entrepreneurs. We can provide advice, signpost and support on important issues such as funding, marketing and community engagement to help social enterprises become sustainable and grow. In addition to our Awards programme this is an important feature of our work.
For the past two years Oxford Brookes University, University of Oxford and Student Hubs have been successfully supporting social entrepreneurs who mainly come from within the University community. Now, as a result of grant funding from UnLtd we are able to offer the programmes planned for the coming year to the wider Oxfordshire community.
