Tom Carman – OSEP Non-Executive Director

Tom is a business development professional with expertise developing projects, programmes and new business for social enterprises, charities and co operatives, particularly those working in food and farming, land based enterprise, environmental improvements and community business.
He works for 3Keel. He has previously worked at Ethex – a crowd investment platform based in Oxford, The Plunkett Foundation – supporting rural co-operative development, Groundwork – supporting communities to develop green spaces, Shared Assets – supporting organisations to set up and manage common good farms, woodlands and green spaces and Sustain helping set up a network of community food growing spaces.
Juliet Cornford – OSEP Non-Executive Director

Juliet has worked for over 25 years supporting social enterprises. In 2018 she was named as one of the top 100 women in SE (SE WISE 100). Working internationally for the British Council she supports the development of social enterprise through policy and government engagement and capacity building.
She is the founder and former CEO of Social Enterprise Northern Ireland, leading the establishment of a representative body for the sector including establishment of the first ‘All Party working group’ for NI Assembly.
An experienced business advisor and coach to social enterprises and the third sector supporting a diverse range of organisations including credit unions, community owned village shops, and public sector spin outs.

Grant Hayward – OSEP Non-Executive Director

Grant has been supporting OSEP since its inception as an informal partnership back in 2013/14.
He is now the day to day contact for general enquiries and supports the operations of OSEP. He also worked on the eScalate programme as the Enterprise Support Manager, providing 1:1 support to programme participants.
Following a 30 year career in mainstream business, he relocated to Oxfordshire and for the past 10 years has been supporting Social Enterprises, enterprising charities and social entrepreneurs. He has also developed expertise supporting mainstream businesses to become more purposeful and is a B Leader, promoting the B Corp movement and helping business to become certified B Corps.
Giles Orr – OSEP Non-Executive Director

Giles is a director of Kintsugi Consulting, specialising in supporting SMEs overcome their business challenges. He spent 6 years with Brookes Business School, developing a detailed knowledge of Oxfordshire’s economic and business environments, working with over 300 local businesses to survive and grow. He was a Trustee of the River Learning Trust, chairing the audit and finance committees, helping the Trust grow from 3 to nearly 30 schools during this period.
Giles has extensive experience of education and training development and delivery, holding senior posts in global organisations, consultancies and further education. He spent a decade as the global lead for education and membership at the Chartered Institute of Public Finance.
Giles lives in Oxford, proud that both of his children studied at state schools in the City even though he purports to be a devout Northerner.
Professor Tim Vorley, OBE – OSEP Non-Executive Director

Professor Tim Vorley is Pro Vice-Chancellor (Art, Humanities and Social Sciences) at Oxford Brookes University and leads on Entrepreneurship and Enterprise. He was recognised in the 2023 New Years Honours list and awarded an OBE for services to Enterprise, Entrepreneurship and Innovation. Tim has led a wide range of projects and initiatives in the UK and internationally focusing on entrepreneurship, enterprise and innovation funded by UKRI as well as projects on Community Business with Power to Change. Tim works extensively across government departments, and is also Vice Chair of the Small Business Charter, created by Lord Young to recognise business schools that play an effective role in supporting small businesses and student entrepreneurship.
