As well as supporting organisations directly, OSEP also works with key stakeholders, nationally and locally on themes, agendas and campaigns that in turn support those it was set up to serve and also open up opportunities for them and to solve pressing social and environmental issues that key stakeholders and partners are keen to tackle.
These include:
Buy Social
Social Enterprise UK’s Buy Social Campaign and the Buy Social Corporate Challenge
Social Value and procurement
The Public Services (Social Value) Act 2012 places an obligation on public bodies to consider how the services they commission and procure might improve the economic, social and environmental well-being of the area they operate in.
OSEP is working with key organisations and institutions, nationally and locally, including local authorities and other public sector bodies, OxLEP, Social Enterprise UK, as well Social Enterprises and private sector companies to maximise the opportunities and benefits this presents
A more Inclusive Economy
Oxfordshire has one of the strongest economies in the UK, yet still it faces persistent and pervasive social and environmental challenges and hosts significant areas of deprivation.
Social Enterprise, enterprising charities, social entrepreneurs and genuinely purposeful businesses are a significant part of the solution to this issue. OSEP is therefore working closely with key partners, locally and nationally to help facilitate creative and powerful cross-sector collaborations that can help tackle this vital issue.
