Co-operative Futures is a business development consultancy specialising in co-operative, mutual and community led businesses. Co-operative Development Worker, Alice Hemming, based in Oxford, can share information with you about how to set up, and help you through the process of registering.
Whether you are starting out with an idea, looking to grow and develop your business, or want to know about more about community ownership and co-operative business models Co-operative Futures can help you.
Working with start-ups and existing companies, Co-operative Futures advise a variety of enterprises in a wide range of sectors including retail, leisure, community asset transfer, renewable energy, care and many more.
There are many names for the types of organisations Co-operative Futures work with, but it boils down to three things: the organisation has trading activity, it has a social purpose, and there is some form of collective ownership.

Support for your co-op or community business
Although the funding for free support for Oxford-based community businesses ended in July 2023, there are other support programmes available. Some of these include Co-ops UK Business Support Programme, the Community Shares Booster programme and the REACH fund. If you are interested in applying to any of these, please get in touch via the form above, and Co-operative Futures can support your application.
Co-operative Futures can also provide tailored consultancy from governance training to business development support, for start-ups or organisations that do have access to funding. So please do let Alice and the team know if you are interested in exploring further support.
Co-op networking:
Alice hosts regular social and networking opportunities for co-operatives from across Oxfordshire with Co-ops UK. The next event is on Tuesday 10th October, find out more and sign up here.
